Evidence-Based Treatment for Anxiety Disorders

We offer evidence-based therapies designed to reduce symptoms of anxiety and build positive coping skills for stress relief.

CBT for Anxiety

CBT is a short-term, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to anxiety. CBT helps individuals learn coping skills, such as relaxation techniques and cognitive restructuring, to manage their anxiety symptoms.

CBT Exposure Therapy for Anxiety

This therapy is a subset of CBT and is particularly effective for phobias and panic disorders. It involves the gradual exposure of the patient to the feared object or context without any danger, to help them overcome their anxiety. Systematic desensitization and virtual reality exposure are common methods used in exposure therapy.

MBSR For Anxiety

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction combines mindfulness meditation, body scanning, and yoga to help individuals become more aware of how their thoughts affect their physical health. Research has shown that MBSR can be as effective as CBT in reducing anxiety symptoms and improving quality of life.

Medications for Anxiety Disorders

In addition to conventional anxiety therapies, we also provide psychiatric interventions and medication management to improve symptoms of anxiety.

  • Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs): SSRIs such as Prozac and Zoloft are a type of antidepressant that work by increasing the levels of serotonin in the brain.
  • Benzodiazepines: These are a class of sedatives that provide fast and short-term relief of anxiety symptoms. They work quickly but have a higher risk of dependence and abuse.
  • Beta-Blockers: These are used to control the physical symptoms of anxiety, such as trembling and sweating.

Anixety Disorders FAQ

What is the treatment for anxiety?

Anxiety disorders require professional mental health treatment to help manage symptoms. These can include medication such as sedatives or antidepressants, cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, group therapy, or a combination of these.

ADHD is not an anxiety disorder, but when it goes untreated, it can cause distressing symptoms that lead to anxiety. Research shows high rates of co-morbidity between ADHD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

Anxiety (generalized anxiety) is not a mood disorder; it is a kind of anxiety disorder along with social anxiety or phobias. However, it is common for anxiety disorders to coexist with mood disorders.

Anxiety disorders require an official diagnosis from a mental health professional, but signs that could indicate anxiety include persistent worrying, tension, increased heart rate, trembling, sweating, and changes in sleep/appetite.

We are specifically formulated to offer personalized therapeutic interventions to adult individuals with mental health disorders.

We provide a comprehensive Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that offers clients the opportunity to attend group therapy sessions three to five times a week.
