Corner Canyon’s co-founders, Cheryl Kehl, LCSW and Rob Lund, BA, CRS, have extensive experience in adolescent and adult treatment, and are joined by consulting partners who also own Gateway Academy, a highly regarded Residential Treatment Center for vulnerable adolescent boys. Our highly professional management team has been carefully assembled for their skill level, quality of work, and ability to work collaboratively, providing sophisticated care and treatment for all of our clients.
The Corner Canyon Health Center commitment is to provide thorough and innovative assessment, develop individualized treatment plans based on that deep understanding of each client, and provide research validated therapies and compassionate care to improve client’s mental and physical health as quickly as possible. All components of our programs are integrated holistically to provide maximum positive impact on our clients, and we focus intensively on the quality of care we offer, with staff and therapist training at the top of our priorities.
At Corner Canyon Health Centers, we prioritize comprehensive and innovative assessment as the foundational step towards providing effective treatment for mental health and addiction. Our assessment process is significantly more extensive than industry standards, including DNA testing, full medical and hormone testing, brain scans, and an extensive nutritional psychiatry assessment among other more standard testing like psychological, biopsychosocial, and psychiatric evaluations.
Based on the thorough understanding that this assessment provides, we offer individualized treatment plans that include clinically sophisticated therapies like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), And Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which build on more traditional therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Behavioral Therapy. Corner Canyon considers these traditional therapies to be foundational, and all of our mentors are trained in these modalities to provide a stable, emotionally safe environment for our clients and personnel. Corner Canyon is committed to the highest quality and most effective therapy for clients and their families, and our clinicians receive ongoing training internally and at conferences and workshops to stay on top of current research and practices.
Corner Canyon builds on these therapies by using innovative treatment modalities like Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, the Stellate Ganglion Block shot for rapid reduction of PTSD symptoms, Nutritional Psychiatry, Neurofeedback, Gut-Brain Diet, Yoga, Somatic Breathing, Sound Bowls, Massage Therapy, Equine and other Experiential Therapies. Our focus is on providing the most impactful treatment for each individual, and we have many resources to access as we work through their individual treatment plans with them.
Corner Canyon Health Centers started small to ensure high quality treatment, and has grown since 2017 to include two residential programs and an outpatient therapy office. Our specialized trauma treatment program has shown significant success, reducing trauma symptoms up to 83% (based on our most recent outcome study results). Our small, home-based residential settings allow us to provide personalized treatment with an emphasis on healthy relationships and communication.
We have seen positive outcomes in our treatment of anxiety, depression, bi-polar and other mood disorders, significant PTSD from trauma, gender identity disorders, alcohol, drug, and process or behavioral addictions like technology, explicit sexual content, food, and shopping. We also have positive outcomes with personality disorders, family, communication and relationship problems, medication management, high functioning autism, mild eating disorders, and other diagnoses.
As a Joint Commission accredited facility, we maintain the highest standards of treatment, behavior management, and medical protocols. Corner Canyon is currently going through the extensive and company wide trauma training to receive certification from the Arizona Trauma Institute, a 9 month process.

We are a private pay program, and are out of network with most insurance companies. We have success securing single case agreements with many companies, however, the rate of payment on those varies with the insurance company and we cannot guarantee what they might pay. We will run a Verification of Benefits (VOB) when we receive your insurance information so you have a general idea of what your insurance policy may reimburse, however, that is an estimate based on what all people insured by your company have received from your insurance, not a guarantee of what they will pay in your case.
On average, Corner Canyon’s clients receive a portion of insurance reimbursement 85-90% of the time, but the amount varies from minimal repayment to full reimbursement. We have a team of insurance advocates who are invested in helping families secure as much reimbursement as possible.
