What Makes Us Different

We believe that mental health care should be personal, evidence-based, and holistic. Here’s how we deliver care that goes beyond just managing symptoms:

A Safe Space to Heal and Be Understood

Evidence-Based Outpatient Care Rooted in Respect

By combining deep clinical experience with genuine human connection, our team provides personalized care that respects your cultural backgrounds, personal values, and entire story.

IOP Designed for You

Our IOP is designed to adapt to each stage of your mental health journey and grow with your progress.

Flexible, Real-World Support

IOP meets multiple times per week, allowing clients to live at home and maintain daily responsibilities. This supports deeper integration of therapeutic skills into work, school, and community roles while still providing structure and connection with professional clinicians.

Individualized, Evidence-Based Care

IOP blends clinically proven therapies like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and advanced ketamine therapy with components such as functional medicine and skill-building workshops, helping clients address both symptoms and underlying contributors to mental health challenges.

Holistic Approach to Healing

Our program offers personalized treatment plans informed by functional medicine principles, focusing on nutrition, hormones, and gut-brain health. This makes it well-suited for individuals with long-standing or complicated mental health conditions who need more than traditional talk therapy.

Find Help for What You’re Facing Right Now

Whether you’re dealing with persistent anxiety, deep depression, or past trauma, we create a treatment plan that meets you where you are.

Sara-sorenson LCMHC

Sara has a Bachelor’s in Anthropology and a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling. She is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC), trained in EMDR, CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, ACT, and Art Therapy.

Her work spans diverse populations, including foster youth, survivors of sexual abuse, and individuals struggling with addiction.

She is passionate about integrating evidence-based therapies with creative approaches to help clients explore their unique meaning, purpose, and path to healing.

Cheryl Kehl, LCSW
Cheryl has worked in mental health and addiction treatment since 1991, serving as a clinician, clinical director, program founder, and administrator. In 1998, she co-founded Second Nature Wilderness Program for adolescents after identifying gaps in existing outdoor therapy models. Her goal was to create a safer, more clinically sound approach that expanded access for a broader adolescent population and gave parents greater confidence in wilderness-based care.

Those years of experience, combined with her own time in treatment, directly shaped Corner Canyon. Having experienced residential care firsthand, Cheryl understood what made treatment effective, what got in the way of clinical growth, and what it took for clients to feel genuinely safe and cared for. Corner Canyon’s emphasis on comprehensive assessment, advanced clinical practices, and innovative technology reflects that foundation.

Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology and a Master of Social Work degree, both from Brigham Young University. Outside of work, she is the oldest of ten children, a mother of three, and a grandmother of six, which she will tell you is her favorite role of all.
